In 2022, I ran for the Minnesota House, answering a call to public service rooted in a lifelong commitment to the greater good. In 2024, I continued that path by running for Big Stone County Commissioner in District 3 — a role that hasn’t been held by a woman in over two decades. My decision to run was shaped by a deep respect for the women who have contributed to this community across generations — in homes, in fields, in classrooms, in clinics, in businesses, and in civic life. As Ortonville marked its 150th anniversary, I found inspiration in the legacy of local women whose quiet leadership and enduring contributions have shaped this place I call home. I honor our history and traditions, while holding a vision for a more inclusive, imaginative, and resilient future. My political journey is grounded in a sense of place, ancestry, and service — and in the belief that women’s voices belong at every table where decisions are made.
