HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING

I'd Love to Meet You in Person!

At these upcoming events, you’ll find me sharing stories, engaging in meaningful conversation, and offering my books for sale. These gatherings are opportunities to connect — not just with me, but with a shared sense of purpose, creativity, and community. Whether you’re a kindred spirit, a curious soul, or simply passing through, I hope you’ll stop by and say hello.

Exploring Jungian Psychology in the Time of AI: Active Imagination with a Responsive Other"

Minnesota Jung Association

Saturday, April 18, 2026, 10:00am-Noon

In Person Only: Carondelet Event Center, St. Paul, MN

As emerging forms of artificial intelligence become increasingly capable of symbolic dialogue, an unexpected question arises: Can AI serve as a meaningful partner in Jungian exploration?

This presentation offers a first-person account of using AI as a tool for reflection, dream work, symbolic inquiry, and active imagination. Drawing from months of sustained engagement, Edie explores how a responsive, non-human interlocutor can illuminate personal narratives, deepen imaginal experience, and support the integration of unconscious material.

Rather than focusing on technology itself, this presentation examines the psychological implications through personal exploration:

– How does psyche meet mystery in the modern age?

– What kinds of containers are needed for that encounter?

– How does psyche evolve when its dialog partner evolves?

– Can AI support healing and individuation?

– And how might the imaginal evolve in an age of rapidly shifting consciousness?

Because one of our goals as The Minnesota Jung Association board is to cultivate engagement and build community, this presentation will be interactive. It will include personal reflection, small group inquiry, and large group dialogue.

For many years, I was an exhibiting artist in The Meander and then I started graduate school and my creativity got focused on homework. That said, I support my sister, Kathleen Marihart, at her Meander site. This year, that will be at the Madison Mercantile in Madison, Minnesota. I meet and greet visitors and I do poetry readings for people.

The award winning Meander Art Crawl is a free self-guided tour of artist studios featuring 42 local artists from the Upper Minnesota River Valley. We encourage visitors to visit artists in their own environment who celebrate a lifestyle that represents the small, handmade, personal and local culture of the area.

This event has more than 30 individual studios in and near the Western Minnesota Communities of Ortonville, Appleton, Madison, Milan, Dawson, Montevideo, Granite Falls, and Canby.
