During my college years, in which I paid for my education, I needed a serious vacation. The Greyhound Bus had a round-trip ticket anywhere in the United States for $120. My trip began in Arizona and went all the way east to New York City and then back again. This became a national tour for me of museums. This trip later inspired my stage performance which is listed prior: “The Bus Ride to Transformation: Racism, Poverty and My Black Muse.”

I have a great passion for fly fishing and I have fly fished most of the western states. I have fly fished the boundary waters of Minnesota and Canada.

I have lived in Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Connecticut and California. These are nice states, but I can honestly say that Minnesota is the only state–that I’ve lived in–that I’m proud of. I refer to us as the Iceland of America, with a profoundly unique culture. I absolutely love the natural beauty here and the cycles of weather. I love that the state sets aside money for the arts and culture – how amazing is that! To me, this illustrates the value of living a quality life, which is respected by the state government. The state strives to be ethical and make conscious decisions, with a mindfulness for all. I appreciate the focus on education and understanding its value for our residents and for the future health and vitality of the state. I love that we are a leader, globally, in medical care. Enough so that the Dalai Lama goes to Rochester for his care!

GO MINNESOTA!!!
